The truth is that minimalism spreads way beyond the boundaries of black and white.
Here, the goddess of simplicity, Jil Sander, demonstrates how minimalism can be represented through shapes, structure and contours. Think strictly straight lines that dare to remain, even when using fabrics such as leather and wool.
There's something extremely cosy about this collection. The combination of socks and sandals- a widely accepted trend by now, and the incorporation of high neck sweaters adds a much appreciated twist of warmth, alongside the Wes Anderson-esque palette of rusty hues.
A sporty-schoolgirl vibe runs prolifically through this collection- fabricated into starched collars and knee high socks, yet the cocoon sweaters and side split skirts give the looks some fresh, zesty edge.
The hair and makeup looks keep the models looking well groomed and post-shower slick, although not overly so, as one's eyes aren't pulled away from the main focus. The main focus of course being the clothes that are so effortlessly layered, and boast a functional and also dare-to-be-seen-in-me simplicity.
Ciao for now,
